Larkspur is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Larkspur has Queen Anne Victorians, store-front facades and a 1930's art deco theater that brings to mind the towns past.  Along with the dozens of historical buildings, Larkspur also maintains a ferry terminal for easy access to San Francisco.  The town is also the home of the world-famous Lark Creek Inn Restaurant.

Hall Middle School has been designated California Distinguished School five times, most recently in 2007. It is also a designated Blue Ribbon School.

The school maintains a transitional program with self contained classes for 5th graders and departmentalized programs for 8th graders.

A California Distinguished School in 2007, Redwood High School offers a

College prep curriculum with Advanced Placement and Honors courses.  French, Spanish, and Latin language courses are offered.  An ROP program is also available.


The school serves Larkspur, Kentfield, Reed Union and Ross School Districts.

Alumni include SF mayor Gavin Newsom, mountain bike inventor Gary Fisher and comedian Robin Williams.

Tamiscal is a small independent high school in the Tamalpais Union High School District.  The program allows students to earn a high school diploma but may not provide necessary courses for university entrance.  Some university required courses may need to be fulfilled elsewhere.
